Prince Jacob Okunola Buried Amidst Encomiums (See Photos)

People from all walks of life on Saturday, July 15, converged on Aagba, a town in Boripe local government area of Osun state for the burial of Prince Jacob Okunola.

The burial rites for the late teacher and community leader commenced on Friday, July 14 with a lying-in-state held at his residence and later same day, Christian wake keep and service of songs was held at the same venue.

At a Requiem Mass led by Rev. Fr (Dr) Kenneth Adewole Adesina held at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Oke-Odo, Osogbo, the homilist, Fr. Martin Oguntoyinbo, said going by the testimonies of people, the late Jacob Okunola lived an impartful life.

He said, rather than acquiring material wealth, Christians must be conscious of eternity and work towards imparting positively on the people around them with whatever God has blessed them with.

He urged children of the deceased to learn from his virtues of  humility and selflessness, saying the world will be a better dwelling place, if people live in fear of God and respect other creatures.

Speaking in turns to Amiloaded correspondent during a reception held at the play ground of Holy Apostle's Catholic Primary School, Aagba, the eldest son of the deceased, Prince Ayoade and one of his brothers, Prince Bukola, said their father's role with-in his immediate and extended families, his church and Aagba community would be sorely missed.

They added that the exemplary life of the deceased will continue to be a good reference point in several years to come, and promised never to depart from the path of truth he set before them.

The 83-year-old late Prince Jacob Okunola, married to late Victoria Adedigba was of Olore's compound, Aagba and served as teacher and education administrator in towns that include Osogbo, Iwo, Inisa, Ibadan, Otan and Okuku before retiring in the late 80's.

He is survived by four children namely; Alex Ayoade, Richard Olusola, Emmanuel Bukola and Florence Temitope and many grandchildren.
