What Alvaro Morata Said To Zenedine Zidane Before Leaving For Chelsea(Photo)

Alvaro Morata has arrived in London ahead of his move to Chelsea.

The Spaniard’s move to Stamford Bridge will bring to an end the striker merry-go-round, with Antonio Conte getting his man after Romelu Lukaku signed for Manchester United.

The transfer fee is being heavily disputed but the initial fee before add-ons is £58 million, according to the Telegraph.

It makes Jose Mourinho’s admission that Real Madrid were playing hardball over Morata all the more confusing.

Chelsea have seemingly had no issues in getting Real to accept their offer, although that could be in part due to Morata’s willingness to play for Conte.

"I'm going to the team managed by the coach who has placed the most faith in me, and that's great for me,” Morata is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.

Los Blancos have released footage of the 24-year-old saying goodbye to his teammates and coaches at the club’s training camp in Los Angeles.

What Morata said to Zidane

He is seen sharing a word with Zinedine Zidane, and Morata has revealed what he said to the Frenchman.

"I told him thank you very much for everything and good luck for this year," Morata told Marca.

The Spain international has a right to feel mistreated by Real - they sold him to Juventus, then bought him back, only to hand him 14 starts in La Liga last season - so it’s nice to see that player and club have separated on good terms.

Mourinho isn't fussed by Morata's move

Mourinho has reacted to Morata’s move to west London by insisting that Man United already have a top striker in Lukaku.

"I am not interested in what Chelsea Football Club does, really," the Portuguese said, per Sky Sports.

"We needed a striker, yes. We needed with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) in his best conditions, we needed one to give cover, to give options.

"Him and Marcus (Rashford) was not enough and especially after Zlatan's injury.

"We got a big player - a player that I can compare with what he was a few years ago because he worked with me a few months four or five years ago.”

The Golden Boot race will be fierce

With Morata at Chelsea, Lukaku at United, Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal and Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane also in the mix, the race for the Premier League Golden Boot is going to be incredible.
