ASUU had already declared that they would be strike after the NEC meeting held yesterday.  Schools were however, given the chance to do their congress and decide if they will join the strike.

Amiloaded correspondent gathered that at the end of the internal Congress done earlier today, UNIOSUN decided to join the ASUU strike.

This would most likely disrupt the exam scheduled to start today 14, August 2016.

After the Congress, the following resolutions were made;

3. After elaborate deliberations, Congress empowered the Branch Chairperson to declare the strike action as soon as ASUU President announces the commencement of the strike at National.

According to ASUU-UNIOSUN chair person, Mr Abiona Oluseye, "Comrades, consequent upon the declaration above and the executive power granted me at congress meeting of Asuu - Uniosun today Monday 14th August, 2017,

l hereby announce the commencement of the Nationally declared strike in Uniosun by 11.23am"
