Join Politics And Reposition Nigeria, Expert Tasks Muslim Professionals

An Islamic finance expert and lecturer at the University of Lagos, Dr Yusuf Tajudeen, has challenged Muslim professionals to join nation's politics with a view to repositioning the country.

Specifically, the expert asked them to vie for political positions and become problem solvers in Nigeria.

Dr Tajudeen, an Islamic economist, made this known at the October edition of Professional Muslim Forum (PMF) held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Speaking on the topic " Nigeria, a Toddler at 57: Muslim Professionals to Rescue," Dr Tajudeen urged Muslims to be up and doing, prepare themselves for self-development and serve as good ambassadors of Islaam in any position or appointment they hold.

He emphasized that it's high time Muslims stopped attributing blames on others ; instead, they should continue to mentor young Muslims if Muslim professionals truly desire a well developed Muslim Ummah.

He said, "start making yourselves as solutions to problems. Stop complaining if you want to progress in life ; change to problem solvers instead of problem discussants. Produce a blueprint and actualisation strategy. You must be relevant ; you don't have any course to complain, with what Allaah has done for you. You shouldn't be afraid to fail (if you have a good intention). "

Dr Tajudeen therefore called on all Muslim professionals to be dynamic in their da'wah by discussing contemporary issues that revolve round the challenges of Muslims, without being sectional or associational. According to him, the Muslim professionals should never joke with data, but they should be able to "turn immediate problems to researchable topics."

Highlights of the well attended event organised by the Guild of Muslim Professionals, Oyo State Chapter, included job and career opportunities as well as questions and answers session.
