Other major communities like Ilesa, Esa Oke, Ede, Osogbo, Ila, Okuku and Ife in the state of Osun have produced either governor or deputy governor, it is now the turn of Iwoland son/daughter to occupy the number one seat.

Isiaka Adeleke (Ede) January 1992 to November 1993 under Social Democratic Party: His deputy was Adesuyi Hastrub (Ilesha)

Bisi akande (Ila Orangun) 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2003 under Alliance for Democracy: His deputy was Iyiola omisore (Ile Ife) then Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin (Ile Ife)

Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Okuku) 29 May 2003 to 26 November 2010 under Peoples Democratic Partys : His deputy was Erelu Olusola Obada (Ilesa)

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Ilesa) 26 Nov 2010 till date. His deputy is Otunba (Mrs.) Grace Titilayo Laoye.

26 years after the state’s creation Iwoland deserved a shot at the highest political office in the state.

The quest for an Iwolandmanian as governor can only be achieved through unity of purpose, sensitization, networking with other sub-groups and fielding of credible candidates across all the major political parties.
