Osun 2018: Oyetola Takes Campaign To Ile-Ife, Seeks Supports Ahead of APC Primariy


A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress who serves as the Chief of Staff to Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has visited Ile-Ife to solicit the support of party faithful in the area ahead of the July 7 primary of the party.


Addressing party faithful who throng St Peter High School, Omi Okun, Ife East local Government to receive him, Oyetola said the town is blessed with tourists' sites that are yet to be fully tapped and promised that the centers would attract international presence once he becomes the state governor.


The Chief of Staff who tagged is campaign "Ileri Oluwa" told the Ife people that they should vote him during the party's primary election stressing he is capable to succeed Aregbesola among other contestants.


He said his government would ensure UNESCO enlists tourist centres in Ile-Ife among World heritage centres.

 

The aspirant said he would compliment the efforts of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye  Babatunde Ogunwusi in transforming the town and making it to have global presence especially in the area of tourism.


Earlier in their respective welcome addresses, Hon Rotimi Makinde, a former house of Representatives member under the APC and Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin former deputy governor under the Alliance for Democracy assured the Chief of Staff of their support and other party chieftains in the town.


They enjoined all members of the party to work towards the emergence of Oyetola as the APC  candidate in the Primary election.


Other notable APC  Chieftains  present at the occasion such as Hon Biyi Odunlade, Prince Sikiru Ayedun, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, Engr Kassim Salami, Mr Gbenga Akano, Prof Olorede among other dignitaries took turns to speak on the person of Oyetola and their confidence in his capability to take the mantle from Aregbesola whom they described as a 'governor extraordinaire'


Ife East local government  which is home to the eastern part of  Ile Ife,  acknowledged to be the cradle  of the Yoruba race  played host to Mr Gboyega Oyetola and the Ileri Oluwa campaign team as the first of Osun's 30 local government to be visited.


The entourage thereafter proceeded to Ifetedo in Ife South local government and Area Office where they were well received by The townspeople and APC Enthusiasts
